Welcome back to the Polygon Treehouse Blog!

Alex and his big face

LONG TIME, NO BLOG

Hi, Alex here from Polygon Treehouse.

It’s been quite some time since we last did a blog-post and we wanted to put that right! A lot has happened since we launched Röki; We’ve been nominated for lots of awards and even won a few. We’ve even moved from Cambridge to Dundee, Scotland to make the most of the incredible hills and mountains to balance sitting in front of a computer making indie games all day!

A NEW POLYGON TREEHOUSE GAME!

We mentioned that a lot had happened, in fact we announced a whole new game, Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island. We’ll be talking a lot more about it but for now here’s the high level description:-

You’re shipwrecked on a lost mythical island. As backpacker Alex, you must befriend the forgotten gods of Greek mythology and restore their memories. Explore the dynamic island and its story sandbox to build new friendships, solve the mystery and save the gods.

A new take on Greek Mythology

Sounds pretty neat right! We’re super excited about the game and how it’s shaping up. In fact it’s already been getting some great feedback from events like LudoNarraCon:-

“Polygon Treehouse won multiple awards and two BAFTA nominations for Röki and I can see why from just the demo of this game alone.” - FANDOMENTALS

‘It was like consuming a couple of fresh baked cookies.’ - CGM

‘The 'cozy game' is an itch I haven’t scratched in a long time, and the art style, story, and relaxing vibe of Ambrosia Island tell me this might finally be the experience I’ve been looking for.’ - NOISY PIXEL

‘You can see much of what made Roki fun reflected in Mythwrecked. The environments are interesting to poke around in, puzzles are breezy brain ticklers, and it has Polygon Treehouse's sense of humour.’ - ROCK PAPER SHOTGUN

A NEW PUBLISHING PARTNER

We’re delighted that our publishing partner for Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is none other than Whitethorn Games. They’re an indie game publisher focusing on pleasant, cozy games that anyone can pick up and play. Their titles include games like Lake, Calico, Wytchwood and Apico. They’re believers in accessibility (in fact more on that in next week’s blog), inclusion, and widening the audience that gets to play.

The fine folks from Whitethorn Games

When it came to picking a publisher for the game we were really keen to partner with a team who are passionate about non-violent gameplay and share our values, so they’re the perfect fit.

NEW BEGINNINGS

We’re really proud of the Polygon Treehouse blog and all the insights we were able to share with folks so we thought it was a real shame that we’d not posted in so long. So it’s a new start and we’ll post as much as we can moving forward.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Alex
